Opening the Doors, released by Deux-Elles on 9 January 2026, introduces the musical world of classical guitarist Sungbin Cho.

The album is a tour de force of Sungbin’s musical character — his refined yet fearless virtuosity, and his unmistakable emotional warmth. Every track reflects his desire to communicate directly and honestly with listeners, inviting them into a space where sound, colour, and storytelling intertwine.

A defining element of the album is the instrument itself: a guitar crafted by his wife, luthier Yun Young Shin. Their collaboration adds a deeply personal layer to the project. The instrument’s clarity, depth, and responsiveness allow Sungbin to explore the entire timbral range of the guitar with rare intimacy. His natural ear for shaping line and gesture brings out the instrument’s most vocal musical qualities. Here, virtuosity is not a show of force, but a means of communication.
